A Gyoseishoshi (or an administrative scrivener) can support you for a fee in preparing an application for the following benefits programs as part of counter measures against the expansion of COVID-19. Both are intended to support businesses, having faced decrease in sales due to the expansion of COVID-19, in continuing their businesses.
- 持続化給付金 (Jizokuka- Kyufukin or business continuity benefits program)
- 家賃支援給付金 (Yachin-Shien-Kyufukin or rent assistance benefits program)
If you are a foreign business and have difficulty in understanding the details of these programs or how to apply for them, or do not have time to apply for them by yourself, do contact your nearest Gyoseishoshi for help without delay.
I will give you a short summary of each program.
1.Jizokuka- Kyufukin (or Business Continuity Benefits Program)
Eligibility | Business entities (small or mid-sized companies and sole proprietors) whose sales in any month this year dropped more than 50% compared to the corresponding month last year |
Amount of benefits | For small or mid-sized companies, 2 million yen at the maximum; for sole proprietors, 1 million yen at the maximum |

Necessary documents | ①Copy of final tax return documents for the year 2019 or the preceding fiscal year ②Copy of sales ledger of the month in which sales dropped more than 50% ③Copy of bankbook ④Copy of identification papers |

2.Yachin-Shien-Kyufukin (or Rent Assistance Benefits Program)
Eligibility | Business entities that satisfy the following ①, ②, and ③ : ①Business entity (a small or mid-sized company or a sole proprietor); ②As to the sales between May to December 2,020, sales in any month dropped more than 50% compared to the corresponding month last year, or total sales of any three consecutive months dropped more than 30% compared to the corresponding months last year; and ③One that pays a rent for the land and building that are occupied for its own business. |
Amount of benefits | For small or mid-sized companies, 6 million yen at the maximum; for sole proprietors, 3 million yen at the maximum |

Necessary documents | ①Documents to prove the existence of a lease contract (copy of a lease contact, etc.) ②Documents to prove the records of rent payment for the immediate three months prior to application (copy of the front cover of the bankbook and the part in which the rent payment records are shown, copy of transfer statement, etc.) ③Copy of identification papers ④Documents to prove the decrease in sales (copy of final tax return documents, copy of sales ledger, etc.) |

Additionally, Gyoseishoshi can apply for registration of designated stores that handle “Regional Common Coupon” for the Go To Travel Campaign on your behalf. A wide range of businesses, such as souvenir shops, taxi, restaurants and cafes, and merchandising businesses, can participate in this program.
